Pixar has become synonymous with communication barrier and Brave did not disappoint. Obvious examples being treasured toys that interact with people in so many one sided conversations. A symbiosis of rat and the talentless garbage boy make an impossible situation, captivating. Both Wall-E and E.V.E are only machines on a mission with nothing but their own abilities to share. Monsters may technically speak English, yet Mike and Sully befriend a little girl who has no vocabulary.
Between all of them, an unbreakable bond is both created and fostered. Much like the goal between storyteller and the audience. They must rely on their characters to convey the story. We must be willing to listen. And if we do our part as audience we take that story with us forever.
This is an encouragement to willing participants to see Brave and gain that experience again. For those who would see this film, remember this theme. As even those we are close are prone to communication barriers and sometimes what brings us back together is not the right words but shared experience.
